Modbury's Jubilee Bridge closed after flood damage found

An 126-year-old bridge in a Devon town has been closed after being damaged by flooding.
Engineers found the Jubilee Bridge at Modbury had suffered "extensive damage" as a result of flooding at the end of last year and was "in danger of collapsing", Devon County Council said.
It would "remain closed for some months", the council added.
The bridge was built in 1887 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign.
Council engineers were first alerted to a problem after a member of the public reported a depression in the road.
They found that river bed material supporting the bridge had gone and the weight of traffic created the dip.
