Council plans 400 new Torbay Hospital parking spaces

More than 400 new parking spaces have been proposed for Torbay Hospital by the local council.
Torbay Council wants to borrow £1.7m for the project at the site in Torquay, which it would manage and enforce. Each space would cost about £4,000.
The unitary authority said the scheme, which would be a partnership with the hospital's operating trust, would be self-financing.
If given the go-ahead, building work is due to start in June.
The South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital, says that "finding a car park space can be difficult at busy times". The hospital has about 2,000 parking spaces.
