Cullompton High Street closed after cob wall collapse

Part of a Devon street has been cordoned off after a section of wall fell from a building made of cob.
A section of wall of the King's Head pub in Cullompton High Street collapsed on Sunday, Mid Devon Council said.
The authority warned that recent extreme wet weather meant cob buildings needed to be inspected and maintained. Materials used in cob include mud, straw and earth.
Sections from a nearby derelict laundry fell on to the High Street in January.
Mid Devon Council said its head of building control was working with the owner of the King's Head to assess the remaining structure and instigate repairs.
