About 120,000 visitors are expected to attend the 2014 Royal Cornwall Show, which includes many animal displays

The show's history stretches back to 1793, when the first exhibition was held

Some champions were crowned during the first day of the three-day event at the show's ground near Wadebridge

Large livestock is not the only type of animal on display at the show

One goat took a close interest in one of the BBC's cameras ...

... unlike this sheep who displayed a notable fringe. The sheep section of livestock displays alone received more than 1,170 entries this year, organisers said

Local produce is also a prominent feature of the show, which is running until Saturday
