HMS Somerset returned to the UK after its latest deployment, during which it intercepted a fishing boat in the Arabian Sea and seized almost 60kg worth of heroin

Family and friends welcomed the Plymouth-based ship back to the city after its six-month stint in the Middle East

The ship travelled almost 27,000 miles and its chefs used 16,080 sausages, 34,140 eggs and 4,603 chickens during the 176-day deployment

About 600 people - many with banners and posters - welcomed the ship back to Devonport

On arrival, Christopher Barker, 30, asked his partner Donna Richards, 28, to marry him. She accepted and said she was "overwhelmed"
