Swimmers set off from Totnes to the 10-mile swim to Dartmouth on Saturday

More than 1,600 swimmers have taken part in gruelling endurance swims along the River Dart in Devon.

Two 10K races from Totnes to Dittisham took place on Saturday and Sunday.

The swims raise money for the Outdoor Swimming Society, Devon Air Ambulance, Frank Water clean water charity and the Marine Conservation Society.

This year an extra race from Totnes to Dartmouth of 10 miles on Saturday saw 50 swimmers take part.

Kate Rew, founder of the Outdoor Swimming Society and the Dart event said: "People have been training all summer if not for years to get here."
