Student dies on rain-hit Devon main road

Police have warned drivers about road conditions after heavy rain around Devon

A student has died after his car came off a Devon main road during a night of heavy rain..

The man, aged in his late 20s, was freed from his BMW 3 Series car on the A38 near Buckfastleigh in Devon, at about 18:00 GMT on Friday.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead later.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash which followed a number of warnings by police to drivers about heavy rain around the county.
