Gareth Malone's winner 'thankful' for having Asperger's

A student who wowed TV audiences with performances during Gareth Malone's The Choir said he is "thankful" for having Asperger's syndrome.

Michael Kuya is a member of Semi-Toned, a group crowned winners of The Choir: Gareth's Best in Britain.

Asperger's syndrome means he finds it difficult to understand what people are feeling.

In the semi-final, Mr Kuya had to take a more logical approach to singing an emotional solo in Candle in the Wind.
