Ursula Shepherd is learning to read at the age of 87

An 87-year-old woman is learning to read.

Ursula Shepherd said her teachers in the 1930s "didn't really care" if she was educated.

Ms Shepherd is learning in Exmouth with the help of tutors from Learn Devon and has already "improved a lot".

She said her goal is to be able to go to the library and read a book.
