Two people onboard a yacht that ran aground off the Devon coast have been rescued.

Coastguard teams were scrambled to help the crew of the 26ft (7.9m) yacht at Start Point near Salcombe at about 03:45 GMT.

Two men have been taken to hospital, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Officers added the yacht remained on rocks as it was "too dangerous" to recover at the moment.

Newquay's coastguard helicopter is on the scene along with coastguard rescue teams from Prawle and Dartmouth and a helicopter and lifeboat from Salcombe.
