Exeter industrial estate fire an 'accident'

Fire crews with eight appliances tackled the blaze in Exeter

A large blaze which broke out on an industrial estate was started by accident say fire investigators.

Earlier, eight appliances were tackling the blaze at a recycling site at Marsh Barton industrial estate in Exeter.

At about 15:50 BST Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was out and crews were monitoring a waste pile for hotspots.

A post on Danes Castle Fire Station's Facebook page, external earlier showed a large amount of smoke from behind a building.

"The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental," said the fire service in a statement.
