Public invited to help World War Two preservation project
- Published
Members of the public are being asked to bring any diaries, letters and photos they own from World War Two to an event in Plymouth.
The University of Plymouth is taking part in a national scheme called The Finest Hour.
Items will be recorded and added to an online digital collection that will be accessible from June.
Dr Harry Bennett said: "The stories of World War Two are being lost, we need to preserve them."
The Associate Professor of History added: "Thirty years ago, there were a lot of war survivors who could tell their stories - now we're relying on heirlooms and memories to tell their stories for us."
Anyone with items they wish to share can attend the event at the Roland Levinsky building between 13:00-17:00 GMT on 15 November.
