The plan includes proposals for more housing and aims for a net zero-carbon city

Consultation events are set to be held in Exeter looking at how the city will develop over the next 20 years.

The city council's plan includes more housing on brownfield sites and how to create a net zero-carbon city.

There will be two events, one at Alphington Village Hall on Tuesday, and another at Positive Lights, Sidwell Street, on Thursday.

Councillor Emma Morse said the policies would "develop the potential of the city for economic growth".

Councillor Morse, council portfolio holder for city development, said: "Exeter is the economic heart of the region and has one of the fastest growing economies in the UK.

"The economy policies in the Exeter Plan seek to develop the potential of the city for economic growth with a focus on ensuring the benefits of jobs, skills and training are available to all."

The consultations on Tuesday and Thursday will be from 13:00 to 19:00 GMT, with residents urged to attend.

On 12 December, there will be a consultation at Newcourt Community Centre, Blakeslee Drive.

On 13 December, there will be an event at Toby Carvery, Rydon Lane, Middlemoor

On 11 January, there will be a further event at St Thomas Cricket & Social Club, Grace Road, Marsh Barton.
