Volunteers are hoping to get permission to extend a village shop to help combat loneliness.

The shop's committee said currently only six people can meet around one table and enjoy the social space.

It said a small extension would allow more opportunities for interaction for residents who live alone.

It also wants to enlarge its stockroom so it can place bigger orders with wholesalers.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service, external said people have until 29 December to submit their views to North Devon Council.
