Pair charged with attempted murder after Torquay assault

Two people have been charged with attempted murder after a man was seriously assaulted in Torquay.
Officers said the man, in his 30s, suffered cuts to his back and his head during the attack in the Castle Circus area in the early hours of Tuesday.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a man, 29, from Torquay, had been charged with offences including attempted murder and assault by beating.
A 29-year-old woman was also charged with attempted murder, the force said.
She appeared before Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody, police said.
The man is due to appear in court on Thursday.
