A 62-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a single vehicle collision on the A30 near Exeter.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it happened just before the Alphington Junction and involved a grey Honda Civic at about 11:00 GMT on Sunday.

Officers said before they arrived first aid was being administered by ambulance crews and members of the public.

They are asking witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to contact them.

Officers said there were tailbacks and diversions in place while they investigated the incident and they thanked those members of the public for their patience during this time.
