A young cat from Devon that found fame on social media and the streets has gone missing.

Teddie, a one-year-old ginger cat from Torquay, was last seen at a nightclub where he was "escorted off the premises" by a bouncer last Thursday.

Owner Robyn Waring, 22, set up a Facebook group for Teddie after he became a local celebrity for his unusual adventures.

The cat is a regular at supermarkets, pubs and even seen in ambulances.

'We are worried'

Miss Waring said: "It started about a year ago as soon as we put a cat flap in. Teddie started going to random places and we would get phone calls all hours of the day to say he was in people's houses.

"It has snowballed from there. Now he visits Tesco, betting shops, ambulances, bakeries and barbers. The latest one was the nightclub.

"That was the last time I had a picture sent to me. The bouncers at the nightclub joked that he was underage, so he wasn't allowed to be there. It was funny."

Teddie was last seen at the Soho Bar at about midnight.

"We are all worried. The thing is with Teddie is that he could randomly turn up. We are a bit concerned that maybe someone has taken him in because of the bad weather," Miss Waring said.

"His Facebook group has over 2,200 followers and it is not just the local community, there are people from France, Blackpool and Australia who follow his adventures."

Since Teddie's disappearance, Miss Waring has been contacted by people who have designed and distributed posters, and reported possible sightings.

She said: "I want to thank everyone who is actively looking for him. I also want to thank Hector's House because they have had to scan him so many times."

Miss Waring has asked people to keep an eye-out for Teddie, and if they suspect they have found him to get in touch. Teddie is chipped and has a collar with contact details.
