Man arrested after armed police incident on Plymouth street

A man has been arrested after armed police and negotiators were called to a Plymouth street.
Officers were called to Albert Road at around 20:40 GMT on Tuesday after reports of threats being made and a man possessing a suspect weapon.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers and the force helicopter all attended the scene in the Devonport area of the city.
A 55-year-old man was arrested and remains in custody.
He was held on suspicion of making threats to kill, possession of a firearm without a certificate, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and sexual assault by penetration.
'Safe close'
Roads were closed while the incident was dealt with.
A police spokesperson said the negotiator was able to speak to the man and "bring the incident to a safe close".
