Work was completed to the roof in January
Repair work on a pub's roof has been completed after the local community donated £3,000 towards the project.
The Cridford Inn, in Trusham, Devon, held an all day music event, quiz nights, bingo and sold Christmas cards to help raise the money.
Repair work to the thatch and the installation of a new roof ridge was completed in January.
Owners Paul and Ness Moir said the total cost was £6,100 and they paid the remaining balance.
'Enormous contribution'
The couple, who have owned the pub since 2018, said its history could be traced back to 825 AD.
Mr Moir said the community also helped with personal donations and individual fundraisers.
He said: "The enormous contribution from the village and surrounding area has made all the difference, and it has enabled us to have the work completed somewhat sooner than we thought was possible.
"Ness and I are really grateful to the local community and our customers who have put so much effort into making a significant contribution towards the cost of renovating our thatched roof."
