Exmouth: Views sought on plan for future of seafront
- Published
Exmouth residents are being asked to give their views on an "aspirational" plan to redevelop the town and seafront.
East Devon District Council said the plan would provide a concept on which to decide where developments would go.
Among the ideas are a new leisure centre, multi-storey car park, pedestrian-friendly spaces and "sculptural stairs".
The council said a questionnaire on the proposals, external would be open until 15 March.
It said the draft plan was "quite aspirational" and aimed to provide a guide on potential future developments.
Councillor Nick Hookaway, portfolio holder for culture, leisure, sport and tourism, said the plan was "significant" for the town.
He said: "This is the first time that the entire seafront and town centre has been considered in this way.
"Once adopted the plan will remove uncertainty and allow businesses to invest in Exmouth with confidence.
"The plan will also give the council the ability to seek and bid for grant funding as it becomes available."
