Woman dies after being pulled from Sutton Harbour in Plymouth

A woman has died after she was pulled out of the water near the Barbican in Plymouth, police have said.

Officers were called to Sutton Harbour Marina at about 02:30 BST on Sunday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The woman, who is believed to be in her 70s and from the Bideford area, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Officers said her death was not being treated as suspicious and a report was being prepared for the coroner.

Police remained at the scene throughout Sunday afternoon, with HM Coastguard teams and a Ministry of Defence police boat also in attendance.
