Emily Longley trial: Court sees model's last night out

The jury in the trial of a Dorset man accused of murdering his girlfriend has been shown CCTV footage of her last night out.

Emily Longley, originally from New Zealand, had been living with her grandparents while studying at college.

The 17-year-old model was found dead in her boyfriend's bed at the house he shared with his parents in Bournemouth last May.

Elliott Turner, 20, of Queenswood Avenue, denies murder.

Winchester Crown Court was shown footage of Miss Longley arriving at the Cafe Shore in Sandbanks the night before she died. Emily had rowed with Turner and had chosen to go alone with friends.

Prosecution witness Oliver George, 18, a mutual friend, recalled how Mr Turner had criticised Emily, saying she was dressed inappropriately and would attract other boys.

She told him she would wear whatever she wanted.

The CCTV footage then went on to show Mr Turner arriving at the same venue later that night. Emily left shortly after, but Mr Turner tried to follow her.

Police were called to the bungalow shortly before 1000 BST on 7 May 2011

Mr George told the court Mr Turner was shouting "she's ruined my life, she's twisted my heart".

Jurors also read text messages from Emily's friends claiming the defendant had "had a hissy fit" and tried to punch her.

Footage taken a week earlier at the Bella Rosa bar in Canford Cliffs was also shown to the court. The prosecution alleges Mr Turner assaulted Emily off camera, smashing her head against a table.

Mr Turner also denies perverting the course of justice. His parents Leigh Turner, 54, and Anita Turner, 51 also deny perverting the course of justice.
