Christmas post bag stolen from hire vehicle in Weymouth

A Royal Mail post bag containing Christmas parcels and letters sent by special delivery has been stolen.
The bag was snatched from an insecure hire vehicle parked in Abbotsbury Road in Weymouth, Dorset, last Wednesday.
It contained seven items, five from Abbotsbury Road Post Office and two collected from Chickerell Post Office.
Police think the thieves may have dumped the bag. They asked anyone who spots discarded material marked with the Post Office logo to come forward.
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said it was investigating the matter in co-operation with police.
"The safety and security of mail is of the utmost importance to this business," she added.
