Tens of thousands of people are expected to head to Dorset for the Great Dorset Steam Fair.

The event is being held at the village of Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum on a 600 acre showground.

Steam road locomotives and showman's engines used to power the event's fairground remain the major attraction, alongside hundreds of vintage vehicles.

About 200 tonnes of coal is burned by the engines during the five-day fair, which attracts up to 200,000 visitors.

The fair, now in its 47th year runs until 6 September.
