Sandbanks beach stadium plans withdrawn

Plans for a 2,000-seat beach sports stadium in Sandbanks have been put on hold.
Former AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell wants to demolish a pavilion and 40 beach huts to make way for the £7m-10m stadium.
The council is also looking at spending an estimated £7m updating and adding facilities to the seafront.
Mr Mitchell said the plans had been withdrawn for the time being so the two schemes "did not clash".
Ideas from the authority for the Sandbanks beach area include about 170 new beach huts.
A low-rise hotel and new car park are also being considered.
Mr Mitchell's stadium plans contain 40 ground-floor beach huts and 20 glass boxes overlooking the stadium with exterior balconies overlooking Sandbanks.
The authority's plans are due to be be considered by the council's cabinet on 8 December and full council on 15 December.
