Villages including Sixpenny Handley are set to have their bus services ended

Bus services set to be cut in rural Dorset in a bid to save £500,000 have been published by the county council.

The authority plans to end subsidies for services that run once or twice a week, and encourage volunteer-run community transport schemes.

It said it was focussing on routes which "support Dorset's economy by helping people get to school or work".

A public consultation, external on the plans is being held before a cabinet decision on 24 February.
