Lives of elderly carers highlighted in Bournemouth University study

Men are more likely to become carers in older age and usually as a result of caring for their partners, according to a study by Bournemouth University.

Its figures show more than 50,000 over-85s are now carers.

Researchers identified a "hidden population" of male carers and highlighted isolation, depression and physical health problems.
