A missing kayaker has been found after an overnight search.

Jordan Lane, 25, went missing on Monday evening while he was paddling 12 miles (19km) from Canford Cliffs near Poole, Dorset, to his home in Barton on Sea, Hampshire.

The overnight search involved a coastguard helicopter, three RNLI lifeboats and shore teams.

Dorset Police said he had been found in the Bournemouth area on Tuesday morning and was "safe and well".

The force earlier issued a description of Mr Lane as it appealed for sightings of him on land or on the water.

Officers said "extensive searches" had been carried out on Monday evening and into the night before Mr Lane was found.
