The streets of Weymouth are set to be filled with hundreds of pirates as its three-day festival gets under way.

The event will feature pirate music at venues throughout the seaside town, street performers and re-enactments.

Tall Ship Moonfleet will be dropping anchor on Custom House Quay as the flagship of the festival.

A parade will see a horde of pirates march through the town. The swashbuckling gets under way on Friday and runs until Sunday.

The route will see them make their way through the town to St Edmund Street near the harbour, along St Mary Street and then back up St Thomas Street.

Nothe Fort is also hosting a number of pirate-themed activities for families over the weekend.
