Passenger hurt as bus has roof ripped off in Bournemouth crash

A passenger has been taken to hospital after a double-decker bus's roof was ripped off when it crashed into a tree.

Police said the incident happened shortly before 18:00 GMT on West Way in Bournemouth.

The person suffered a wrist injury and was taken for treatment. Images of the vehicle, operated by Morebus, showed it with its roof all-but completely removed.

Motorists have been told to avoid the area.

The road has been closed between the junction of Bankside Road and Castle Lane West.
