Three men have come forward after CCTV was released as part of an inquiry over police impersonation.
Officers said three men approached a woman as she walked in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, at 03:30 GMT on 30 November.
She told police one showed her a false warrant card before they gave her a lift home in a silver Volvo.
Dorset Police said the woman also reported the car was driven with a siren and flashing blue lights.
The force said following an appeal, three men had come forward and were assisting officers. No arrests have been made.
The woman was not harmed.
