A 14-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a crash involving his bicycle and a car.
Dorset Police received reports of the crash on Knighton Heath Road, close to the junction with High Howe Lane, in Bournemouth, at about 07:30 GMT on Monday.
The force said a silver Volvo failed to stop at the scene.
A 59-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
The injured cyclist's family has been notified.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
