A dog had to be rescued after falling 25m (80ft) over a cliff edge on Christmas Day.

The animal got into trouble at Pinhay Bay in Lyme Regis, Dorset.

HM Coastguard sent Beer and Lyme Regis coastguard rescue teams who carried out the rescue with the support of the RNLI lifeboat from Lyme Regis.

The dog was recovered using a rope and was reunited with its owner. The coastguard advised dog walkers to keep their pets on leads near cliffs.
