Over 60 firefighters have been tackling the fire in the thatched roof of the home in Gillingham
Firefighters have worked overnight to tackle a fire in the roof of a thatched house.
The blaze broke out in the chimney of the home in Langham Lane, Gillingham, Dorset, on Monday at about 14:15 GMT.
Twelve fire engines and more than 60 firefighters from stations across Dorset have been stripping the thatch from the roof to extinguish the flames.
Crews remain at the home dealing with hot spots. Langham Lane remains closed.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority said those in the home were safely outside when crews arrived.
The fire service said crews had worked hard to salvage possessions and "save as much of the house as possible".
