Dorchester crash: Driver dies in three-vehicle collision

A car driver has died following three-vehicle crash

The crash, involving a black Honda Civic, a grey Volvo XC90 and a lorry, happened on the A37 near Dorchester at about 05:40 GMT on Monday.

Dorset Police said the driver of the Honda, a local man ages in his 20s, died at the scene. His family has been informed.

The driver of the Volvo SUV, a man aged in his 50s from Somerset, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sgt Richard Stroud, of Dorset's roads policing team, said: "Our thoughts are very much with the family of the man who sadly died in this collision, at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.

"It is important that we establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please contact us."
