Plans to transform a former Dorset nightclub into flats have been approved.

Dorset Council has backed a change of use proposal to transform the first floor of a property in East Street, Wimborne.

The building was used by The Club during the 1990s and has been vacant since the its closure in 2022.

Developer Sabrecore Holding Ltd has applied to turn the floor into 11 flats.

In the company's application it said the changes would involve some internal alterations for the apartments and associated cycle and bin stores.

It also confirmed a salon and commercial premises based on the ground floor would not be affected by the changes.

The Club was based in the upper floor of the building and the company previously running it was legally dissolved in January 2021.

The developer first submitted its proposal in December 2022 and plans to create eight one-bed flats and three two-bed properties.
