Work to install two footbridges for pedestrians and cyclists over a railway line has been completed.

The 101ft (31m) structures on Glenferness Avenue in Bournemouth have been paid for by the government's Transforming Cities Fund.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council said the area had previously been a "pinch point" for traffic and the changes would make it "significantly safer".

Work on the project began in September.

The authority said a second phase of work on Glenferness Avenue was now being undertaken.

This includes the installation of new stepped cycle lanes between Talbot roundabout and Alford Road, as well as junction safety improvements at Roslin Road South and Elgin Road.

The work is expected to be finished in the summer.
