Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old was stabbed to death at a house party in Essex on Saturday.
Police said the boy from the Clacton area was stabbed during a disturbance outside the house in Marlowe Way, Colchester, at about 22:00 BST.
He was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries but died shortly after arriving, Essex Police said.
Two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy are being questioned by officers.
'Tragic loss'
They are all from Colchester and are being questioned at separate police stations.
Det Ch Insp Simon Parkes, from Essex Police, said: "This really is a tragic loss of life that we, but more importantly, this boy's parents have to deal with.
"This murder took place in an affluent area of Colchester and at a house party which had a garden that could cater for the 100 or so teenagers that were present."
Everyone at the party was a "key witness", said Mr Parkes.
He urged anyone who had attended to contact Essex Police or Crimestoppers.
"Our thoughts are very much also with this boy's family," he added.
