A detective who "accessed police information" in connection with a "personal matter" has been sacked.
The 26-year-old detective constable had been based at Essex Police's headquarters in Chelmsford.
But in June last year the officer, who has not been named, inappropriately accessed police records.
Mark Gilmartin, chairman of the misconduct panel which heard the case, said the officer had acted unlawfully and was "dismissed without notice".
