Lawford stabbing death: Man charged with murder

The victim, who has not been identified, was found by officers at 05:15 GMT on Friday in Barker Close

A man has been charged with murder after another man was found fatally stabbed in the chest and stomach in an Essex village.

Police said officers found the victim at 05:15 GMT on Friday in Barker Close, Lawford, Manningtree. He later died in hospital.

Patrick Chandler, 44, has been charged and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court later.

Two other people have been released and will face no further action.
