The force said up to five people armed with weapons went into the launderette.

It is believed the others fled the scene after the man was fatally injured. A post-mortem examination will be carried out later.

Officers previously said they were looking into the possibility the 39-year-old man questioned by detectives had acted in self-defence.

Witnesses are urged to come forward.
