A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following what police described as a disturbance at a property in Essex.

Police were called to an address at George Crooks House, New Road, Grays, at about 03:40 BST and found a man with a serious injury.

He was given medical help but died at the scene.

Det Ch Insp Terry Balding said officers were working to establish the circumstances.

He said the incident was believed to be isolated.

"There will continue to be a police presence in the area today and throughout the weekend as our inquiries continue," he added.

"I would encourage anyone with information on the incident, including anyone who may have been with the man who has died, during the night, to come forward and speak to us."

The arrested man remains in police custody.
