Car seized in Essex for racing on the highway

One car has been seized and other drivers given warnings following reports of anti-social driving.
Essex Police had been patrolling the Thurrock district after concerns from residents and businesses.
On Sunday, they issued five Section 59 warnings and seized a car after the driver was reported for racing on the highway.
The driver, who police said had been previously warned in June, now faces a potential driving ban.
A Section 59 warning applies to both driver and vehicle for 12 months, during which time any repeated careless or anti-social driving can mean police have the power to immediately seize a vehicle.
On Thursday, Essex Police seized another vehicle after reporting the driver for having no insurance, and they were also issued with another Section 59 which would apply for 12 months.
