Plans to upgrade one of the busiest junctions on the M25 is set to hit one of its "biggest milestones".

Work to create a new two-lane loop road linking the A12 and the M25 has been ongoing since October last year.

As part of the upgrade, a crane will be lifting new culverts into place which will help widen the M25 slip road.

The M25 anti-clockwise will be closed between junction 29 and 27 from 22:00 GMT on Friday to 07:00 on Saturday.

Culverts are concrete tunnels that carry water under roads or railway lines. Here they will help channel water from the nearby Weald Brook.

During the closures, National Highways are urging drivers to leave extra time during their journeys.

However, drivers travelling on the M25 clockwise will not be affected and people who are travelling into ULEZ during the closures will not be charged, as long they use the diversion route.

Construction work started in October 2022 and is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
