Lakeside Christmas Wonderland ride closes after incident

Part of a shopping centre pop-up Christmas attraction has been closed after a man was injured on a ride.
The man needed hospital treatment after the incident at Christmas Wonderland at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock, Essex, the ambulance service said.
Paramedics attended the scene at 21:50 GMT on Saturday.
The centre has launched an investigation into the incident with operators and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
"The attraction is operated by a third party and we are working closely with their team to investigate the incident, as a matter of urgency," a Lakeside spokesperson said.
"The safety and wellbeing of our guests is our number one priority and in the meantime, part of the Christmas Wonderland site has been closed."

Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and a response car from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were dispatched to the shopping centre.
The man was taken to the Royal London Hospital for further assessment and treatment, an East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokeswoman said.
