Seven people were arrested and 12 vehicles seized as part of a police crackdown on driving offences.

Essex Police's road crime team led the operation between Southend and Chelmsford on Saturday.

Officers made seven arrests on suspicion of a variety of offences which included dangerous driving, drug driving, theft of a motor vehicle and immigration offences.

Adam Pipe, head of roads policing, praised the "successful operation".
