A man in his 70s has died in hospital after a crash between a car and a pedestrian in Southend-on-Sea.

Police arrested a woman when they arrived at Woodgrange Drive at about 16:20 GMT on 13 December.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" and died a week later on Wednesday.

The arrested person - a woman - has been bailed while inquiries continue. Essex Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
