Virginia McCullough in court over murder of parents in Great Baddow

A woman accused of murdering her parents has appeared in court.

Virginia McCullough, 36, of Pump Hill, Chelmsford, appeared via video link at Chelmsford Crown Court.

She is accused of murdering John and Lois McCullough, aged 74 and 75 respectively, between 21 August 2018 and 15 September 2023.

Ms McCullough confirmed her name and was not asked to enter a plea. The hearing was adjourned until March, when a trial date is due to be fixed.

Judge Christopher Morgan remanded Ms McCullough, who appeared via video link from HMP Peterborough, in custody.

The couple's bodies were found at a property in Great Baddow in September.

An inquest into their deaths was opened and adjourned in October last year.
