Man charged after woman found unconscious at Basildon property dies

A woman in her 30s was found unconscious at a property on Elsenham Court, Basildon

A man has been charged with threats to kill and controlling or coercive behaviour after a woman died.

The victim, in her 30s, was found unconscious at a property on Elsenham Crescent, Basildon. She was taken to hospital on Sunday but later died on Thursday.

Essex Police launched a murder investigation.

Joshua Robinson, 32, is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday and remains in custody.

Det Ch Insp Louise Metcalfe said: "We know that this will shock the Basildon Community.

"We will be carrying out enquiries to help us establish the events that took place before the woman was taken to hospital and I'd ask anyone who holds information that could help our investigation to contact us."
