The search for a man who was seen falling into the River Wye in Gloucestershire has been halted.

Detectives say Rikki Baldwin, 24, from Sedbury, has not been seen since early Monday and matches the description of the man seen going into the water.

He is believed to have been out socialising in Chepstow on Sunday but failed to return home.

Emergency services were called to the bridge on the A48, between Sedbury and Chepstow, in the early hours of Monday.

An extensive search of the area was carried out for much of Monday and crews were stood down on Tuesday morning.

Mr Baldwin is white and was wearing a blue T-shirt, black jeans and black shoes when last seen.

Anyone who may have seen him is asked to call Gloucestershire Police.
